Interweave Arts’ Mini Arts Trail at Mona Foma
Come Friday January 18, Mona Foma will fill the sleepy town of Launceston with a vivid mosaic of art and music. The three-day summertime event will also bring Interweave Arts’ Mini Art Trail to curious festival-goers. It’s a treasure hunt through the city’s Inveresk Precinct dreamt up by an assembly of eclectic artists.
On arrival, visitors can pick up a specially created map and begin their hunt around the festival precinct. Along the way, participating punters can expect to find the mini artworks made by local artists, which concentrate on the perennial themes of peace, role models, superheroes, catchphrases and little treasures.
This art expedition is part of the expansive 2019 Mona Foma program, which features multi-disciplinary artists from Australia and beyond – including live performances from local-kid-made-superstar Courtney Barnett, R’n’B legend Neneh Cherry, and new wave/techno party monsters Underworld, alongside a host of visual and performing artists.
The Mini Arts Trail will take place from 5pm to 9pm on Friday January 18, and from 2pm to 9pm on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 January.
