The spirit is usually produced in Scandinavia, but this one has been created using local botanical flavours to give it an Australian twist. Caraway, fennel and dill form the structure of the spirit base, with complexity added through Australian natives such as cinnamon myrtle, riberry, macadamia and strawberry gum.
The result is called Stockholm Syndrome and will form part of Never Never Distilling Co’s experimental Dark Series range. It will be available in limited numbers, directly through the distillery, but will be launched next Tuesday at PS40 during Sydney’s Bar Week.
To pair perfectly with Stockholm Syndrome, PS40 has concocted a new soda that will compliment the clean, bright and herbaceous notes of the spirit. It's called PS Outback Viking, and both it and the partner spirit will be available to taste.
At the Amuse Boosh! party there will also be a list of palate-cleansing cocktails and a few masseuses to make sure everyone is sufficiently relaxed (why not, right?).
The party kicks off at 3.30pm.
